Hi,
I'm new to the forum but not to wet shaving.  I have tried DE, SE and straights but I'm now firmly settled into DE shaving.  My favourites are my Timeless 0.95mm scalloped and my Transgress.

Like many others I have been drawn into the beauty of brushes.  I have several really nice brushes and have even started making my own.

An engineer to trade,  I enjoy working raw materials into something more beautiful and unique.

My hobbies include fly fishing and shooting. 

I hope to improve my knowledge of all things shaving related and look forward to interesting discussions with many of you.

 I have a few razors and brushes for sale today to make way for some new purchases that are incoming.  Prices include shipping within the US Payment by PayPal only please.     

1. Simpson T2 Somerset - $100 - No longer in production. A new Vulfix version is $166 - I received this brush in a trade. I have only used it a few times and it is in great shape as shown in photos. No shedding or other issues. Lettering is as shown, bit of a smudge on the sticker adding to the character of the brush. Wonderful and rare example of the pre-Vulfix Super grade of hair, akin to some of the LE "Silvertip" releases from a few years ago. Comes with original box.

2. Simpson PJ2 Somerset - $100 -No longer in production. A new Vulfix version is $162 - I am not the original owner, but I have only used it a few times.  In great shape as shown in photos. No shedding or other issues. Lettering and sticker are a bit faded as shown, but is common for the "lampblack" brushes from this period of Simpson brushes.  Wonderful and rare example of the pre-Vulfix Super grade of hair, akin to some of the LE "Silvertip" releases from a few years ago. Comes with original box.

3. Gillette Red Rocket - $115 - Great shaver and extremely rare, but I am not in collecting like I used to be so I have decided to part with it.  In over  all very good condition, but there is a spot of brassing on one of the guard bars as shown. Its certainly not as visible in person as in the pictures, but I wanted to get a good shot to avoid surprises.  The spot is smooth to the touch, so it does not inhibit the shave.

4. ATT SE2 - $135 - I bought this razor on TSN BST, second owner, only used a few times by me.  Efficient and smooth.  No issues, but I just have other razors I am using more.    Retail is $185.  Comes with original box and all the accompaniments. [Image: sFGaHde.jpg]


5.  Asylum Evolution - $135.  Great razor and one I probably shouldn't be selling, but incoming purchases require sale of a few items to balance things out. Retail is $185. Comes with the box, but not insert, as I was an early purchaser. Only used a few times.

6.Hart 6/8 Square Point in Satin Finish - $100 - I am the original owner and used only once.  I just do not have the time to get back into straights like I would like. Retail is $158.

7.  Colonial General Black - $50 - Another one I am not sure I should be selling, but need to make some room.  Retail was $65 I believe.  Not sure if these are currently available.

8.  Gillette HD 500 - $20 - Add on only.  User grade as shown below.  Just not getting any use and I need to move it along. Great razor to clean up a bit and give to a new shaver or use as a travel razor.  Again, add on only.

Cleaning safety razor with Scrubbing Bubbles question

Hello. This question is for the ones who use Scrubbing Bubbles. Do you use it on the safety razor after every shave, or once in a while? I'm asking because I'm wondering if it's not too abrasive for cleaning the razor often.

Has anyone used these, or, heard of them?

I picked up a pack, yesterday.  $8.00 was more than I wanted to spend, on them, but, they were unmarked, and, I had already paid, by the time I noticed the price, on the receipt.  

I am going to try one, tomorrow afternoon, for my second shave.

Edgewell have released their version of the Flexball, it is currently available in Germany as the Balea Precision 5 Flex-Pro at DM Drogerie. There are also Quattro carts promoting this new feature as Core Motion Technology.

Hi everyone. I'm new to this forum, but not to shaving. I started out with cartridges in my teens, then used DE's for a while before going to an electric while I worked two jobs and needed to shave quickly. Now I am using DE's again with good or great soaps and cream and a few aftershaves that I like. My current equipment is an ATT R2 that I use the most by far. I also have an R41 that I use once in a while, and a couple of Gillette New types that I rarely use. Oh...and an Oristo is on the way. I am really high on Stirling's Margaritas in the Arctic soap and AS, and WSP Rustic Sandalwood and Sandalwood AS. Other favorites are Stirling's Bay Rum soap and Captains Co9T aftershave, and Proraso green tube cream and green AS. My brushes are a Thater 4125 Super Badger, a Simpson Commodore X3 best badger, and a nice custom handle with a new synth. I look forward to helping out with information when possible, and I'm sure I will learn some things from more experienced shavers. Some other interests of mine are sports, especially football, motorcycles, and automobiles. I also used to race bicycles. I'm cool with discussing any of those things as well as my job as the Records Manager in my County's Archives department. I'm not touching politics, though.

Up for your consideration today is a Rockwell 6S razor system.  Handle, 3 plates, top cap, and storage tin.  This razor doesn't see much use in my den anymore as I've slowly shifted over to SE razors.

Retail: Current retail is $99.00.  I purchased at the original roll out price of $75.00

Razor is in excellent condition, lightly used.  The handle has a machining line in one of the non-knurled portions which I've tried to capture in the photos.

Here I have a 1 of only 2 made Simpson Chubby 2, in Walnut with Manchurian knot.

Doesn't get much more Unobtanium than that

This brush is unused and has not seen a drop of water and is absolutely unmarked.

This is a high dollar item and I'm looking to trade only for a Wiborg brush that appeals to me.

Please comment with interest and trade offers.

I'm based in the UK but obviously will ship with the necessary cover expected on an item like this.
