Hello everyone,

Reality hit me in the face when I did a count and realized that I have more than 5 years worth of soap. I am splitting the soap that I am selling into 2 separate lots. Will only ship the soaps within the United States. I will ship the same day, if not the next day. Shipping is included with price shown. PM your interests and questions.

I'm looking to take the knot from my omega 49 and place it in a nicer custom handle. I'd like a barber style handle , preferably in an acrylic or resin burl type stock. looking for a really special brush here as I have a coin my grandmother left me I would like set in the handle as well. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks Nook.

...the Norwegian Parliament managed one of their very few unanimous declaration:

Apparently, since the main 'meat' of the declaration was in an aside to the main clause, it took the Swedes a little while to realise that Norway had - in essence - rebelled, conducted a palace coup, and tossed the Norwegian-Swedish Union onto the garbage heap of history. Pre-empting anticipated Swedish demands, a pleibicite was conducted in mid August, with an almost unbelievable 99.95% votes for the actions undertaken by the Parliament. Tensions were still running high on both sides of the border, and war was looming between the two nations until mid October - Norway would likely have lost such a war due to Sweden's numerical superiority on land and at sea, but the Norwegians had tailored their forces to counter Swedish tactics (machine-guns against packed infantry formations, torpedo-boats against the Swedish coastal battleships) and their politics against Swedish diplomacy (Great Britain was - more or less - on Norway's side in the conflict)... a Swedish victory would have been hollow and costly.

Looking back it's amazing things went as smoothly as they did... and despite a fair bit of good natured bickering between us, Norway and Sweden have more in common than what sets us apart these days

So, do dentists still use shaving cream with those dental dams?

A really long time ago, I had a dentist who always used a dental dam. They’re those very thin square sheets of (I think) latex, to isolate the operative site—the tooth—from the rest of the mouth. To easily slide the sheet over the tooth, he used…are you ready?—shaving cream. Yup, he had a tube of Noxema handy, and rubbed a tiny bit around the hole he cut in the dam. It slid over the tooth much easier, he said. And, I could barely taste the Noxema.

Don’t know if dental dams are used any more. My current dentist doesn’t use them. I would think there is a dental product to make the sliding easier, but my old dentist preferred Noxema.

Elite Takamine handle with Elite Manchurian 2 band 27 x  54 loft, handle  (Jerusalem) Bethlehem Olive Wood (rare). I've had the brush for over a year used 1x, have to many Elite brushes. If you know anything about Bob's Manchurian 2 band knots they are in the Elite class of knots (I wanted to use this phrase) on the market today. Cost $150. plus shipping selling for $115 shipped conus. I am really only using straights and DEs now. I have a few purchases on their way and need to sell some things I don't use. All prices are shipped CONUS

Gem 1912 SE - My favorite SE. Small head version, which IMHO is smoother than the more common larger head 1912's. The case has seen better days. The razor itself is in great shape. A few minor scratches that I tried to capture in the pics. It also has a tin brass spot where the blade rests on the stop. Comes with 5 Gem PTFE blades. $25 shipped

Straight Razor Designs Latigo strop. Latigo leather with black webbing material strop. Has nice leather handles with ornate hardware. Has a few very small nicks from use, but overall very good condition. Retails for $65---$45 shipped

I recently picked up a Merkur 34 in gold and I can tell that the chrome version is tad slicker on the face.  

I am wondering if the gold is more pours, software metal, or the lacquer on top of gold is tacky and it may need more use.  I used the same soap and new blade each time to make sure I am not biasing the delta.  The difference is small but noticeable. 

Out of the materials out there which are the slickest for razor heads, Chrome, Aluminum, Titanium, Gold, Stainless, etc?

I found this today at the local thrift store. I do not recall seeing this design. It is a quality piece of pottery. The glazing is excellent. I have included three pics of the top and the branding on the bottom. I tried my best to make the brand more readable but this is the best I can do.  Also, I am not sure how one is to use this piece of pottery. I guess you fill the large trough with hot water which will make it "scuttle like"?  Dip the brush in to the trough while making lather?  A most unusual design.


Any assistance is greatly appreciated.  BTW - the cost was $1.99.  A good find.
