Im fairly new to the Nook 17 days old. I have my post requirements, and now just putting in my time so I can be more involved in all the aspects of the B/S/T. I'm sure there's good reason for this policy (I can think of a few reasons why they have it), but this wait is taking what feels like years. I think I'm looking forward to this more so than my birthday or Christmas!!!

I'm new to this site, but I have been wet shaving for almost a year now.
I live in south of France on the Mediterranean coast.
I use just a 1956 gillette red tip and a cobra classic (for the moment Rolleyes )
I like watching your beautiful pictures of your SOTD and I'm glad to be a part of this forum!

It's time to part with my Above the Tie gear.  No complaints with performance, I'm just slimming down the collection.

I am selling a complete razor--handle, cap and one or more plates--AS A LOT.  Those plates not sold as part of the lot will be sold after the lot sells.  The razor (handle, plate, cap) retails for $185.  A 5 piece set (3 plates) sells for $299.  A single plate is $73.  All items cleaned and sterilized.  Presentation box included.  I will cover any PayPal fees and shipping.  If ordering 1 or 2 plates please specify which you are interested in.

While these items have been used, I take good care of my equipment so they're in good shape.  There is no known damage so in the interest of avoiding any quibbling as to the meaning of "mint" I would categorize condition as "very good" to "excellent".  Any blemishes in the photo below are due to poor picture quality (iPhone) rather than actual wear and tear.  I've had them for a few months now.  The M2 was used maybe 3-5 times.  The M1 has about 15-20 shaves on it.  The R1 has been used maybe 30 times or so, having served as my primary razor for the past 6 weeks or so.

Anybody have an Ikon Shavecraft Tech

Just read where the Ikon shavecraft tech is supposedly more aggressive than the 2011 r41. Upon reading that I could not but it fast enough. Question is does anybody have one of these razors? I'm very interested in blade gap and exposure but I can't find any pics. Any info or expierence with this razor is appreciated.

My first straight razor just came in today and I'm super excited!!  Although I'm ready to lather up and try it out, I'll probably wait until I find a good strop. Plus I'm still a little skeerd. Biggrin

I'm still working on taking better photos and while I'm not there yet, at least my thumb isn't in the picture. Thumbsup

Hi guys. I've been lurking on this site for a while now, but figured since I've started doing some shoping on the BST I should properly introduce myself. I've been shaving with a Merkur DE and a cheap Omega pure badger brush for almost 4 years now. So I'm not completely new to wet shaving, but I haven't really branched out a lot. Due to having too much time on my hands during this deployment and all of the beautiful pictures that are posted on here I believe that is about to change. I would also like to thank everyone for all of the informative posts and reviews on here. Anytime I've had a question I can usually find an answer in this forum, so thank you.

I have a couple of CJB straight razors new in box.  Never used, brand new.
For those of you who don't know about this razor, it's a cheaper alternative to the feather artist club, but uses the same blade cartridge, looks pretty much identical.
 
I already have feather artist club, so I want to find a new home for these razors.

I'd sell for $32 $30 shipped CONUS for 1 quantity(if you want to purchase more than one, we can talk about shipping discounts over OM)

Year 1 in the books

Today marks my 1 year anniversary as a member here at TSN. After lurking here and other fora I made the conscious decision to make this my online shaving forum home. It was the right decision and is the only shaving forum in which I participate.

I would like to say thank you to all the mods and members for the conversation, wisdom and camaraderie. I look forward to continued fun, education and conversation.

Super Lather ... How to?

I've read a couple of posts where people mentioned "super lather" in passing. It's my understanding a super lather is when you use both a puck of soap and a cream combined to make your lather. My guess is that you load your brush first from the puck and then dip it in the cream, but I'm not sure. Could someone who has done a super lather tell me more about it. It sounds like it might be a nice thing to do.

1.Muhle XL v 2.0 silvertip fibre.Gorgeous brush. 25 mm knot and loft around 57 mm.As densely packed as an Edwin Jagger XL silvertip fibre.Used twice.Nothing wrong with it , I simply prefer brushes under 24 mm knot.Asking 65 dollars for it.

2.The Grooming CO.If you are looking for a Plisson L'occitane on streroids , this is the brush.A lather machine.Knot over 24 mm and loft around 52 mm.Perfect for face and bowl lathering.Only used for a week.Again , nothing wrong with this brush , but I prefer synthetic brushes with knots around 21-23 mm.Asking 35 dollars for it.

Hi all, I have been drooling over many of our artisan community brushes as most have I am sure. Doug Korn produces great work and I finally reached out to him to discuss making me a D7 (or "C7" like Celestino's!Wink).

What a great and fun experience it has been! Doug is extremely responsive and frankly patient with questions that began as 20 and finally ended at likely 3x that amount. On asking about the blanks he actually paired up suggested colors and took custom images to share in making a final decision. I was interested in a Pur-Tech knot so he also provided expert advice on knot size, loft etc. to finally arrive at what I am confident will be a fantastic brush.

I am excited to say I am now about 2-3 weeks away from finished goods and will circle back to share the final product but can't speak highly enough of the experience thus far. Our community of Artisans is really top notch and a special thanks to Doug in this particular instance.

It looks like the last post on a delivery was around mid-March.  Has anyone received a Romera (wood handle) recently?  I still want another. Unfortunately, had to return my last order for QC issues.  Looking for info on recently delivered brushes and how the QC is/was.
