As some of you know, I tend to like vintage shaving gear and products, which is why I originally bought this Williams Golden Yellow shaving cream. Overall it has not been a disappointment, but it also is not a favorite.
The cream comes in a 5 oz. metallic tube, from which the cream is easy to dispense. The box is cardboard.
The cream itself lathers up pretty well, although it is a little thin and watery. It is very slick, however, making the blade slide effortlessly. My only real complaint about this cream is its scent, which to me is just like old hand soap. I much prefer creams that have some kind of more pleasant floral or cologne-type scent. But where the cream really shines is in its skin care. It leaves my face soft and moisturized, making an aftershave virtually unnecessary, no doubt due to its high lanolin content.
I bought my cream on eBay, where the price generally runs $10-20. You might be able to find it for less on the forums.
So all together I think this is a very good but not great cream, probably worth the lower end of the cost range, especially if you don't mind soapy-scented creams.
