My dilemma: BK4 or BK8?

I'll be visiting the family seat in Aberdeen, Scotland at the end of the month and thought that whilst there I should pick up one of the fabled Kent BK shaving brushes seeing how much cheaper they are that side of the Pond compared with this side. My dilemma is, which size would best suit me? I face lather exclusively and use creams predominantly. The knots on my current brushes tend to be in the 22/23mm diameter and 48-52mm loft. My ideal brush is the Simpson Colonel in best closely followed by the Simpson T2 in super. When I look at the specs on the BK8 and BK4 neither seems to fit with what I currently have and like: the knot of the BK8 is 27mm diameter and 55mm loft, which is a good ratio, but when fully bloomed I fear I might find it too big for face lathering comfortably. On the other hand the knot of the BK4 is 21mm diameter and 55mm loft; whilst the knot diameter is more in line with my current brushes, the loft seems too long, which might result in its lacking backbone. Although I lather on my face exclusively, I'm not an exfoliation fiend and find my Chubby1 too dense and impenetrable, but I do like a bit of resistance from the badger and don't want a brush that feels like a cloud or cream puff on my face. Which should it be or would neither be suitable? I realise of course that this is very much a YMWV, but you comments would be appreciated.

PS, can anyone recommend a shaving supplier in Aberdeen?
