WTS: Rex Supply Envoy and Yates Precision DE Razors

$

These are both awesome razors, but I'm on a quest to keep only 1 DE and neither of these is going to dethrown the CG that has become my daily driver.  Both are in excellent condition.  Both retail for $125, asking $100 shipped for each (net).  I know these are relatively new to the market so feel free to ask if you have any questions.

First up is a Rex Supply Company Envoy (3-piece).  I think this is probably my favorite looking razor on the market right now.  It's a very efficient and smooth shaver, the handle has phenomenal grip to it and a great overall balance.  It's just a bit heavier than I prefer in a DE for daily shaving.  Comes with all original packaging.

Next up is a new DE razor from Yates Precision Manufacturing (yatesprecision.com) that's completely fresh to the market, only around 200 total of these have been made so far (this one is from the most recent batch).  It's machined from 316 stainless and given a stonewashed finish.  I am honestly pleasantly surprised by how cool this razor is, certainly a departure from most of the other DE offerings currently available.  The stonewashed finish gives a very rugged "tooled" look to it, but it is excellently finished without any machining marks or other blemishes.  If you like audible feedback this razor gives a ton, probably even more than the Gen1 Charcoal Goods or Gillette NEWs.  I also found I like the shave angle, which is a little bit steeper (handle closer to face) than most other DE razors out there.  It is surprisingly efficient without being harsh, despite a moderate blade gap of .64mm and neutral blade exposure.  My only real gripe is the length of the handle which is a full 4".  The top cap uses the standard 10-32 threading so you can use other handles, but the design of the bottom of the baseplate limits handle options to those that are 8mm or less at the top.  Overall weight is 93g, the handle weighs 57g.  If you like trying new razors or just looking for a new mid-aggressive razor that would be great as a daily shaver, this one might be for you.  I will probably revisit this razor down the road if/when some shorter handle options are available.

Konnichiwa!

Hey friends,

I am a newbie to wet shaving and straight razors. I bought a Ralf Aust a couple weeks back,
got some Proraso green and a Parker badger brush and now I'm hooked. I live in Yokohama,
Japan but work in Tokyo. Recently, I bought a Kanayama strop at the workshop where they
are made in Tokyo. I am hooked on Japanese razors at the moment, with a Tanifuji Maxfli-Gold
being my current favorite. I certain have a lot to learn but my first forays into the wet-shaving
world did not result in too many weepers (ATG is still a tough proposition). In any case,
glad to meet everyone.

Louisiana guy here

So...I have been a member to a couple different shaving forums but thought I should spread my wings a bit.  First strated wet shaving December of 2014 after my wife got me an Escali badger brush, a Merkur Long Handle razor, and a tub of TOBS.  I have since moved on to various brushes, razors, and soaps.  I think my wife now regrets that she ever bought those for me.  Anyway...I live in Southern Louisiana...home of the LSU Tigers and College Football's 2019 Championship.  Happy to be here!

British Aristocrat #66

Gents,

Eh....I was on eBay browsing around and I found a listing for a 4th Generation British Aristocrat Razor with no box.  So I did a little bit of quick research, and I think that means it is a British Model #66 Aristocrat.  I made an offer, and I was EXTREMELY pleased that the seller accepted!

It operates very smoothly, and exactly as it should.  The condition is not mint, but I would  describe it as excellent user grade with a water spot here and there, and slight tarnishing on the bottom.  It is rhodium plated, and there is no plating loss.

Now onto the good stuff!  My current favorite DE razor is my standard Carbon Shaving Co razor with the original handle.  I have never used a British Aristocrat, but after using this once I must say I am very excited!  My first thought was as efficient as my carbon, but slightly more mild.  It delivered the same BBS results, but it felt like a smoother and more comfortable shave.  There is the potential that this will become my favorite DE shaver!

Needless to say, I am really looking forward to tomorrow night’s shave for more testing.  I hope that everyone has a nice weekend!

I am looking to sell this lightly used (4 uses) Tatara Nodachi Dark. I bought it directly from Tatara and paid close to $195 in total.

CONUS shipping and PayPal fees are included in my asking price of $170. I would trade it for a Rocnel 2019 Elite Aggressive. I will ship international, please ask for a quote. I am shipping out of a military post office located in Naples, Italy so it will take around 10-14 days to arrive.

Thank you for looking.

Too much of a good thing. So then now and then I am compelled to trim the lot. The prices here include U.S. shipping. Paypal is fine. No trades, please. Thanks.

WTS 24mm SHD shave brush

This brush was made by Andrew at Viking Soaps and has a 24mm SHD fan knot. I have only used this brush 2-3 times. I am asking $45 shipped. There is nothing wrong with the knot and it is installed straight. It just hasn’t fully bloomed yet due to lack of use.

I paid a little over $100 for this custom resin brush.

Brush has been cleaned with Zingari Man brush cleaning soap and one of the pictures shows the gel tips after cleaning.
