A while ago my wife went to Israel on a trip with her sisters. While she was there, she brought back this after shave balm for me, as she was looking for shaving supplies to buy me. At first I honestly thought it was some cheap Dead Sea product that high school students try to sell you as you walk past their kiosk at the mall. However when I tried it, I realized that the assumption I had was completely wrong!
The packaging is extremely fine. It comes in a regular cardboard box, but the bottle is made of metal and the pump on top works perfectly, giving you the right amount to apply after a shave. There is no cooling effect, in fact I get a slight warming sensation from it, so slight though that I can't tell if it is warming or irritation. The scent is hard to describe, it almost has a citrus-barbershop scent to it. Scent aside though, the real magic is in the skin care. I have never used a product that can heal a face, and make it feel new, like Sea of Spa can. Now I will sometimes rush through a shave, while using a dull blade and catching a bad angle. Most times I do this I tend to push an ATG pass. Needless to say I get torn up pretty bad; my face is red from irritation. Now, I kid you not when I say that I can apply this balm, after the terrible shave, and within seconds, I feel no more pain, and within 5-10 minutes, my face looks perfectly fine; after an hour there is no sign of irritation left and I can rub my face with my hand and have it not flare the irritation up. I don't know how it does it, but the skin care is amazing! On top of this, the balm will leave your face feeling silky smooth and completely moisturized for the day.
It is a bit sad to say, but Proraso's after shave balm doesn't hold a candle to this Sea of Spa balm.
Though it is only sold in Israel (afaik), you can order it online directly from the company website, and from a few other Israeli sites.
I would highly recommend this product to anyone who suffers from bad irritation, or bad shaves. That being said though, I think it has a place in anyone's den, who values high quality products.
