Found Gold

I've always wanted to be able to restore the gold on a razor. Well I finally got my wish.
I used my "user" grade ( missing the gold) Dbl Duck Goldedge and a Union Cutlery Gold Coin I just picked up as guinea pigs.
I polished out the blades and shafts, plated them and put them back together as originals.Of course I also restored the scales as well. To finish off the DD I mixed up some enamels to match the original blue in the scripts.
The gold is so much nicer than the ( I believe ) NOS Goldedge I also have as a comparison. Now I'll work on restoring the gold wash on a blade itself along with the shafts.

While on the subject of DD Goldedges here is another version I did. The original scales were totally shot so I duplicated the shape exactly in Bone so I could transfer the script from the old scales to the new ones. I may end up breaking this down again in order to do the gold plating to this as well. Naturally the blade got polished up as well as you can see some pitting in the last picture.
