The PIF Heaven shave...

OK SPORTS FANS. Sav received the GOLIATH handle today and that along with my new pot of New York Shave Cream and Personna med prep blades that came in Wednesday it's time for the PIF review.

1st I decided to marry the handle to my NDC Tech head. For some reason it's a little more aggressive than the other 3 Techs that I've tried. So that's why I kept this one. I loaded a fresh Personna Med Prep blade PIF'ed along with the soap from Bullgoose. I was in the middle of a blade test before I got on the SE bandwagon and had tried several Personna Reds. I must say I WAS NOT feeling the love.

2nd I brought out my brand new Semouge 620 that I received in my order package from Bullgoose. (Yea it feels good getting 2 packages from Phil on the same day). I got the 620 because I wanted to try a smaller brush for making my Ultra-lather. I spooned out around a quarter size dollop of the EXQUISITELY scented Elizabeth St. New York Shave Cream into my warm 1947 Old Spice mug.

After my usual prep I shook out the excess water from the Semogue and loaded the MYSC and began to make an Ultra-lather on my face. Dipping the brush tips into the hot water at the proper intervals I made what I'll describe as an absolutely fabulous thick creamy and slick lather. The little Semogue did a mighty fine job and even though I had only test lathered it a few times and soaked it for several hot tap water baths, It worked like a charm and felt great. My hunch was correct in it being a good face lather machine...I painted the yogurt like cream and prepared myself for the shave.

As you all know it's been over 10 weeks since I hoisted a DE to my face and I must say I was a little worried about using the proper angle. Only to find that as soon as the metal hit my face I was off. Kind of like riding a bicycle. Some things you don't forget.

Ohh the feeling of that sweet handle in my grasp. The Med Prep did a wonderful job of whacking away what had become 3 days of beard growth. I had been needing 3 passes with the DE's till I tried the UFO in the pass around. Today I got my BBS in 2 and 1/2. Same as I was getting with my marvelous SE's.... I also must tell.... That New York Shave cream is pretty good stuff. I have recently taken a liking to Mikes Natural Soap. I have been enjoying hard soaps but this cream is right up there with Mikes. I will say I LOVE the scent...

So as not to go off topic of my PIF shave I finished with the Krampert's Finest Acadian Spice Bay Rum that was PIF'ed to me by the man himself. Brian Krampert.

A truly TOP NOTCH shave thanks to a few very generous gentleman. Thanks to Teiste, and Mr. Rafael for the UFO GOLIATH handle. This implement makes all the difference in the world to a DE shave. Phil from Bullgoose for the SUPER PERFORMING New York Shave Cream Elizabeth St. scent. and the 100 Personna Med Prep blades. THIS Personna blade works for me. And also to Phil for keeping stock of the best shave implements in the USA. And to Brian Krampert for letting me in on his GREAT Aftershave. Without your generosity there is NO WAY I could afford most of these nice things YOU GUYS have given me. I Thank ALL of you....

It all has to do with THIS forum. The Shave Nook is more than a forum. It is a real community that just doesn't exist anywhere else.. Loaded with REAL Gentlemen.. My Dad would have liked you guys..

BACK TO TOPIC..... My results. Truly BBS shave... No nicks, cuts, or weepers. Smooth as silk shave....Will I forsake SE's ?? NEVER. I believe I got these results due to the heft and balance of The mighty UFO handle. I WILL place the "Big Dog" in my rotation. It just shaves way to good to set aside... All I know is I'm sitting here with a big grin on my face while I'm faceturbating away...lol HAPPY SHAVES !!!
