I've been slowly working my way into the wet shaving world after having stumbled upon Mantic's Shaving blog. I'm still discovering new sorts of goodies and appreciate the DE world of shaving.
Discovered this forum not too long ago and decided to register finally having been a member of the B&B for a couple of months. Am finding more and more products and information to enjoy and discover! Still have several soap samples from Kell's Originals to get through. Enjoying that soap quite well!
Due to my hypo-thyroidism, I don't have a need to shave on a daily basis so my sample or Arabian Spice has lasted for almost 5 months now! And, I still have 3 other samples to go. I've enjoyed this shaving soap and soon hope to get some samples from Mike's Natural Shave Soap as I've heard a lot of good things about that soap.
I've tried several razors and my favorite so far is the Edwin Jagger De89lbl. I also have a Merkur long handle for traveling. That Merkur is ok. I like the long handle, but the angle on that Merkur doesn't give me the same nice shave as the Edwin Jagger. And, I discovered Garry's starter kit so I ordered that recently. So, I will try out those goodies when they arrive as well.
I recall as a kid that my father used a Gillette TTO style razor and was always fascinated by the thing. But, I grew up shaving with electric shavers and disposables and the triple edge. For me, the disposables are garbage compared to my DE and the 3, 4, 5 blade razors irritate my skin and the electric never gives me a satisfying shave.
I often wonder, will the new shaving systems of the future be like Dr. Seuss stories with contraptions with 7,8,12,25 or more blade systems all claiming yet to offer a miracle close shave? You never know.
I do have quite a collection of colognes. Some rarely used. My favorite scent is Number Six cologne from Caswell Massey. I see there's a decent PIF movement here. Although I'm new, I'll have to see if I have anything unused that I can PIF in the cologne department.
