I admit I am not a huge eBay user. I was a long time ago, but since it has become nothing more than a storefront for a lot of people I have pretty much laid off the site until recently.
Two of my last three purchases (over the last six weeks) have had major issues.
About six weeks ago I purchased a New Feather RG from a vendor in Japan. I had been looking for an RG, and wanted new and since they are still made for the Japanese market, this seemed perfect. After using "Buy it Now", the next day I got a full refund with a note from the seller that the item was "out of stock". How can you sell stuff on an auction site when you do not have the merchandise???
Last night I bought a Wacom style pen for my tablet. The item condition was described as" New: A brand-new, unused, unopened, undamaged item in its original packaging ... Packaging should be the same as what is found in a retail store" (emphasis mine) Today I got a note from the seller telling me he could not find the package and wanted to make sure that I was OK with just getting the pen.
sigh
