Need recommendations for good digicam for collection, haul & shave of the day photos?

Hi

If I want to spend $1K on a digicam house and $1K on a decent lens for close up pics of shaving gear, what would you guys recommend me to get ?

I only buy new gear

I prefer Canon or Nikon, but I'm open for suggestions if value is there
