I have owned and tried (and sold) so many brushes by now that I rarely get surprised... But this time it was much better than I expected or recalled...
Some time ago I owned a Vie Long Silvertip, the 16510 with this gorgeous red-brown-white swirl handle and a 24mm knot. The hair was silky soft when dry, but not quite that soft when wet --- and a loft of 57mm was making it just too floppy - and so I sold it.

I also owned the BG Beehive LE in butterscotch. That was a very nice knot with dense hair and quite soft - but not as soft as a Thaeter or shavemac silvertip and so I ended up selling that as well.

Reports of the "super softness" of the Vie Long hair I did not give much attention as my experience was that of soft but not very soft tips, i.e. not soft enough to compete with Thaeter/shavemacs I own.
But that red-swirl handle kept calling me and since in the meantime the brush was offered with a shorter - 50mm - loft. I thought I give it another try.
And what a positive surprise: this knot has super soft tips, clearly as soft as my Thaeter and shavemac 3 bands.. and a gorgeous bulbous knot with true silver hair. The 50mm loft is just right and makes this brush work equally well with soaps and creams. A definite keeper this time!
Sometimes you have to try again! Below the shorter lofted brush.
