...and I'm glad I did.
I started using Mike's Vetiver about 6 months ago and after about 5 or 6 lathers with it, I gave up. It's not that the lather was bad, I just could not compare it to some of my top performers (MWF, MDC). I was expecting more from it. I got good lather and the shaves were fine, it just did not blow me away.
Well, I recently acquired some Pine and Cedarwood in a trade. Now the scent of Mike's soaps are second to none now that I have tried two of them. They smell so natural and real.
This time, based on suggestions, I used a wetter brush to load and I used a lot more water than I do with my other soaps. I was gifted with beautiful, thick and extremely slick lather. One of the better shaves I have had.
I am now an official fan of Mike's. I would say that Mike's soaps are not "beginner friendly" because they take a little more effort. I get it now.
