Hi everyone, I have been enjoying spending time here reading through the posts and trying to understand things about shaving. One thing I particularly like is learning from others how they do things, today I put into practice some of that learning.
Every since I started shaving 35 years ago I have shaved at the sink prior to having a shower, that had always worked fine for me. I changed a couple of things in my routine today and had a lovely BBS shave.
I decided to shave after showering and to soak my soap and brush for a lot longer than normal, I filled my bowl up with water and placed my Bluebeards Revenge bristle brush in the water, then I soaked my bowl of TOBS Sandalwood soap for the duration of my shower.
Once out the shower I used Proraso pre shave cream and shook out the brush and removed the soap from the water, I left the brush wetter than normal and started to load the brush. Straight away I could see the difference the soap just seemed to want to stick to the brush. Once happy I had enough soap I lathered up my face and after a while had some of the nicest lather ever, what a difference!
I have been trying out the Merkur 37c slant, which I used again with a Gillette Green blade which I had used three times previously, I performed a three pass shave with a bit of touching up under my jawline where I'm still very cautious with the XTG pass.
All items performed really well however I do need to look into a slightly bigger brush.
I finished off with cold water rinse, Clinique post shave soother and Acqua Di Parma for cologne.
The most noticeable difference was when I was putting on the balm I actually was a bit taken aback when I felt how smooth my skin was, unfortunately Mrs Boaz is not here at the moment to double check and confirm my thoughts.
Thanks very much for taking the time to read
