TOBS AS Gels

In addition to traditional AS lotions, TOBS makes AS balms in a thick gel form that comes in a tube like its shaving creams. I have used many, many balms in my life, and this is unlike any other ASB I have tried, which all tend to be thick, milky concoctions that work well to moisturize and protect. The AS gel comes in TOBS' signature scents (I've used Shaving Shop), and you squeeze a thick clear gel from the tube like toothpaste. I typically use a pea sized amount (any more, and I can get a sticky, tacky feeling that lasts awhile), which is enough to cover my face. The feeling after application is very like that of Trumpers Skin Food, very smooth and more like a sealer than moisturizer.

It is very good at calming irritation, which I attribute to a healthy dose of witch hazel as the first ingredient. The aloe doesn't hurt either. Please note that this does have parabens, so if that's not your thing, it's probably not for you. Anyway, I've had the tube for a couple of years, and have been using it daily for the last couple of months, with success. The scent doesn't hang around for long on me, so it should be friendly with colognes. YMMV.
