Happy birthday, Umberto Nobile

On this date in 1885, Umberto Nobile, Italian aeronautical engineer and Arctic explorer, was born. He and Roald Amundsen flew the semi-rigid airship Norge over the North Pole in 1926, probably the first to do so. Those were the days of a world of wonders still to be explored.
