T. Hessenbruch

These razors have to be some of the most nicely finished blades I have seen. This one only had some minor rusting on the blade which a soft sanding and polish took care of. Fortunately there was little on the shaft as this type of logo , and the Bear on the back would have disappeared quickly if more work was needed.
The only issue was a crack on the one scale. Could it be the back one which I could duplicate easily? No, it had to be the facing one with the stamped logo. Of course.
These scales are Bakelite. I was able to work some epoxy into the crack and let it set. Then to add some reinforcement to it I routed a 3/32 slot across the crack and inserted a roughened up 1/16th rod and imbedded it in epoxy. A small line is still visible but I think it now has some integrity.
It's sitting here with my other Hessenbruch ( NOS I believe with original box) done in French Ivory scales with genuine Ivory tang.
Now it has some company.
