Hello from Scotland

Hi there folks. This is my first post on here. The brits amongst you may wonder why Taff would be posting from Scotland, well that's down to my work!!

Been thinking about getting into proper wetshaving for some time now and this morning my new stuff turned up!

This morning, a parcel arrived containing:

1 x Parker 13r DE razor with cow horn handle (how cool is that?!)
1 x Edwin Jagger Badger hair brush
30 x Wilkinson Sword razor blades (bloody sharp!)
1 x Alum stick (never knew these existed till I read on that forum)
1 x Taylor Of Old Bond Street Sensitive Shaving Cream
1 x Taylor Of Old Bond Street Sandalwood aftershave

This morning I spent a luxurious ten minutes having the most amazing shaving experience of my life (and frankly I didn't know such a thing existed!) It shaves so much closer than a five bladed cartridge with just one blade, the cream smells and feels gorgeous, the alum sorted any burn (minimal to begin with which surprised me) within seconds and that aftershave makes me smell really good - proper manly and old fashioned (in a good way) and it bizarrely seems to be enhanced by the smell of Old Gowrie (pipe tobacco - I'm a pipe smoker too) me!! My better half will be well impressed when she gets in from work I think! So with wet shaving I am well pleased....

BUT!!!!

Now I have a hankkering to try all the other products, lotions and potions out there, I want to (eventually) try these feather blades folk are raving about but warning newbies off, and of course, I'm going to need a smaller travel razor for when I go back to sea...

So that's me folks, quite pleased so far and I'm guessing it will only get better!!

*I was relieved to learn that badger hair brushes are made from farmed Badgers from China and not from our cute furry ones in the UK. Apologies to any cattle farmers out there, I am well aware of the current issues with Badgers and Bovine TB, and have no issue with culling them if it is beneficial to livestock and livelyhoods, hell we could even use the culled ones fur, but I wouldn't want to think of cute british badgers being killed just for their fur. Not that I am an animal rights guy or anything, I'm just fond of British wildlife!
