Czech & Speake Oxford & Cambridge Shave Soap

Czech & Speake Shave Soap is perhaps the best current production shave soap available today. Although made by Valobra, I find the performance to be much better than Valobra in terms slickness/glide, cushion and overall skin care. It is a tallow based soap that easily gins up into a rich and creamy lather. The scent is a bit hard to describe but I like to call it a minty lavender scent. I find the scent intoxicating although it may not be for everyone.

I always get my closest and most comfortable shaves when I use this soap. Unlike many soaps, the scent of this soap lingers a bit and I can smell it throughout the day. To me, this is a huge plus because I love the scent.

The anodized aluminum container is stunning as well as virtually bomb proof. While the price of the soap with the container is admittedly high, the price for refills ($38.00) is very reasonable for a top shelf soap such as this. It compares very favorably to the tallow Penhaligon's shave soaps and the old tallow Trumper shave soaps - both of which now sell for considerably more than $38.00. So, in a comparative sense, this soap is a relative bargain.
