If you are new to shaving or are only familiar with vegetable based and glycerin soaps, tallow in soap makes an exceptionally slick and slippery lather and is a highly regarded ingredient in many of the finest traditional shaving soaps. Mystic Water uses pure, food-grade tallow combined with unrefined shea nut butter, avocado and other oils, saponified using sodium and potassium hydroxide and with the addition of soothing aloe vera, bentonite clay, silk, and extra glycerin. The result is a soft soap that lathers quickly with a brush to make a thick, creamy, protective lather that is gentle and non-drying, excellent for even sensitive skin and tough beards. All products are made from scratch in small batches, in Maryland.
Bay Rum:
This is a good version of a classic masculine fragrance that is traditionally made with West Indian Bay leaves (Pimenta Racemosa), citrus and spices. Fragrance oil.
Ingredients:
The main ingredient is food-grade tallow. Michelle likes to render the tallow herself from beef suet that she gets from a fellow farmers market vendor who raises grass fed beef on her local Maryland farm. She adds organic unrefined shea nut butter, castor oil, palm oil, avocado oil and stearic acid along with extra glycerin, bentonite clay, aloe vera leaf juice and dissolved silk. The oils are saponified with both sodium and potassium hydroxide to make a soap that is in between a cream and a hard soap.
Lather:
Well, you be the judge.

Note: Neither of the above two pictures are mine. I do not own either brush. I think one of the pictures might belong to Bruce.
With recommendations from Celestino and Ravi, I decided to try this soap, and I'm glad I did. Mystic Water Bay Rum Soap leaves your skin feeling moist and refreshed and is an excellent soap to use followed by Krampert's Bay Rum After Shave. This soap will be in my regular rotation.
