I recently purchased three packs of different blades from the Lord family of blades. There are currently two offerings under the Big Ben name, blues and violets.
These are the Big Ben Violets, ten blades to a pack for $3.19. Representing a good value for my money.
Blades are packed in a simple cardboard box with the flip top, wrapped in a outer and inner paper. Nothing fancy but it gets the job done.
I shave using three passes. I have enjoyed Big Ben blues in the past, these blades up the smoothness a notch from the blades. Providing a comfortable three pass shave without nicks or any irritation.
I determine sharpness in how the blade performs for three passes and the closeness of the shave. These blades provided enough sharpness to get a comfortable close near bbs shave.
I use a blade for four days and change it, I do not push a blades longevity. The Violets performed well throughout the four days sharpness only slightly changing from day one to day four.
I would purchase the Violets again.
